If you or your company is VAT registered and have not yet signed up for HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT, now is the time to do so.
To submit your VAT return to HMRC, you must be signed up for MTD as of your first VAT return after March 31, 2022. (There are only a few exceptions.) To be compliant, you’ll need a compatible software package or other software that can connect to HMRC’s computers and submit your VAT return. This is in addition to completing the criteria for maintaining digital records.
